Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford founded an automobile organization, Bamford Martin, in 1913. The label was revised to Aston Martin later and was derived from Lionel's last title plus the place where he experienced raced specials which was at Aston Hill. Their initial car or truck was made in Kensington in 1915 but was put at a standstill as a result of the outbreak of Globe War I.
